How to connect devices to corrugated iron

One of the great things about using corrugated iron or Custom Orb for your cladding is that it’s durable, easily cleaned, and simple to replace if it’s damaged… So it makes a great choice for structures such as roadside shelters, Toilets in council parks and national parks. The problem with corrugated iron is that when you go to mount equipment to the rippled surfaces, you get great big gaps around the sides. Its nearly impossible to mount a flat connection to corro.

The type of equipment or conveniences that builders and designers would like to mount in these shelters and toilets include lights, handrails, buttons, flushing mechanisms, Toilet roll dispensers and a host of other items that when installed, leave a lot of gaps and the subsequent issues that this presents. It provides a home for spiders, moths, wasps and all sorts of undesirable creatures to live.

Have a look at this photograph that a colleague took on recent travels when they visited a roadside convenience and they noticed the terrible handy work dealing with these hard to work with unfriendly surfaces. These stainless steel plates had been mounted to the corro surface and then they applied copious amounts silicon sealant to fix the gaps. Yuck!

Then have a look at this image below where we have edited what the outcomes could have been if they had used our Mate Plates solution instead of horrible gunky filler. Our product turns unfriendly, uneven, troublesome steel surfaces into a great place to mount your gear!
